»February 24, 2007: Good News and Bad News
Today I got two letters in the mail from WSU. I got an Academic Commendation letter for getting 3.75 last fall -- and believe me, this took work because I was working 40+ hours a week and also taking 4 classes so I was in school Monday through Thursday. In another letter I got a $60 bill for my parking violation. Yup. I was busted for parking in a reserved lot. Crummy, crummy. So on the one... ... (MORE)

»January 31, 2007: Avoiding Job Burnout
Steve talked about job burnout at length in MIS class today. I can t remember how he tied it into our current topic but he managed to bring it up. I think it was because we were talking about corporate structure and being a group of MBA students pretty much everyone s goal is to reach the top of the hierarchy. He made the observation that what happens too often is that people end up burning out... ... (MORE)
»December 21, 2006: There is a God
The unofficial grades for fall term have been posted. Somehow I made it through with three A s and only one B despite all the obstacles I ve had to overcome this semester. Like, not realizing that I wasn t supposed to take four courses in one semester while working a fulltime job. I ve dropped it down to three classes next semester so I don t have a nervous breakdown and don t kill Brian. I wan... ... (MORE)
»December 10, 2006: Present Woes and Future Plans
It s hard to believe that it has been a month since my last blog entry. They say that time flies when you re having fun. Well, I can assure you, the last few weeks have been anything but. The end of the semester usually brings with it many challenges and frustrations. This semester has been no different. To be sure it has been one of the most challenging I have ever experienced in my entir... ... (MORE)

»November 10, 2006: Thanksgiving Plans
For the first time in years Brian and I are on our own for Thanksgiving (his parents who usually host Thanksgiving will be visiting Aunt Verna in Houston). You d think, having been married for over four years and as old as we are, that we would have plenty of experience hosting Thanksgiving. Sadly, though we thought we were the entertaining type years ago, we realized we don t really like to en... ... (MORE)
»November 1, 2006: Did I Mention How Much I Hate Exams?
So I didn t do so hot on my Marketing exam. This is very disappointing considering that it is supposed to be my easy class. I think I flopped on my Organizational Behavior exam too. Ugh. I hate exams. Even more so when I have to take two in one day. Particularly when it is my birthday. Double ugh.Things to do:1) Complete my distance learning assignment for OB.2) Read case 3 for Operations... ... (MORE)
»October 30, 2006: Happy Birthday to Me
For my birthday today I have two exams. Yuck! Those are the chances you take when you decide to take four classes (12 credit hours) in grad school. There is a possibility that you will have two exams on the same day. There s also that remote possibility that these two exams will land on your birthday. Such is my luck. Hopefully my professors will be nice to me and grade leniently since it... ... (MORE)

»October 9, 2006: Organizational Behavior
Dr. Graham s OB class is growing on me. I was actually disappointed about being let out almost an hour early today. I think OB is quickly becomming my favorite class this sem. It doesn t have a lot of competition. Marketing and OB are my less challenging classes. I hate Operations Management. As for Economics, I like it enough but the problems are difficult.Anyway, Brian has asked that I ... ... (MORE)
